Education and Training Simulation Application

Practice spiritual care
before the room asks you to stay.

The Spiritual Care Simulator for Educational and Professional Development is a protected place to rehearse presence, pastoral conversation, interview preparation, and educator formation without using a clinical record.

Why this simulator exists

Like music, such as Jazz, it takes constant practice. John Coltrane uses the analogy of “polishing the mirror”. To improve in spiritual care practice, it is helpful to have many ways to improve your skills, and your own growth. Formation in spiritual care asks people to stay with suffering, power, meaning, and unfinished questions. This application gives students, chaplains, and educators a private rehearsal space for that work.

EDUCATION

Learn the craft of presence

Practice introducing yourself, following what the other person actually said, and leaving the need to fix outside the door.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Prepare for high-stakes conversations

Rehearse CPE interviews, BCCI-aligned practice, and educator encounters with reflection that points to evidence rather than a verdict.

PROTECTED SPACE

Keep clinical records elsewhere

The simulator is educational. It is NOT a chart, an admissions decision, or a substitute for consultation with an Educator or certifying body.

Who it is for

  • CPE Students

Daily patient encounters, first-unit interview practice, and a local record of formation rhythm.

  • Spiritual Care Professionals

BCCI competency-aligned rehearsal and a place to keep practicing after training.

  • Educators

Practice Educator/Student Scenarios, Use the Patient Scenarios for group education, and review your students focuses of learning. Administratively, Educators can assign students, educators, and chaplains to seats within their centers. You can send invites to created student profiles. Finally, Educators that have CECs can also practice Phase II Certification interview. You can upload your theory presentation or paper to have analyzed and integrated in the conversation.

“Before entering a room, pause long enough to leave your need to fix outside the door.”

FORMATION NOTE · PRESENCE

Responsible use

Practice responses stay with the profile’s local workspace unless a feature that uses a configured language model is turned on. The application does not replace clinical documentation, ACPE or BCCI evaluation, or institutional requirements. See About for the current educational scope.
